The Brave One Victorious on Box Office Fight

Appealing to men for its violent, R-rated content and also to women for its leading star Jodie Foster, vigilante movie "The Brave One" easily transcended gender to fare high in ticket sales and secure the top spot of weekend box office ended Sunday, September 16, 2007.

Scooped $13.5 million in its first three day-run, the Warner Bros. Pictures revenge tale outdistanced last week's champ "3:10 to Yuma" as the Western flick took lower tally of $8.93 million during its second run in the competition. Another new release "Mr. Woodcock" came up as the second runner-up, scoring slightly lesser at $8.76 million.

Broadening the lineup of the movies set to be presented at this year's Toronto International Film Festival, organizers of the event have smoothly added a handful of film titles into the list for sure.

Coming as a Toronto Gala Presentation at the fest will be New Line Cinema's Middle East political thriller "Rendition" directed by "Tsotsi" helmer Gavin Hood. The flick is going to be accompanied by legal drama "Michael Clayton", a directorial debut of screenwriter Tony Gilroy which will mark its first North American screening there following its world premiere in Venice, Italy.

Jodie Foster isn't the only movie star that is brave. Instead, Naveen Andrews and Mary Steenburgen are both as brave as the actress as the twosome has joining Foster to star in the upcoming drama thriller "The Brave One".

There in the Neil Jordan direction, Foster is set as the title character, a woman who recovers from a brutal attack and sets out on a dark psychological and physical journey for revenge and justice. Andrews, on the other hand, will play Foster's fiance, while Steenburgen is set to portray her boss at the newspaper for which she writes.

Thriller movie has driven Jodie Foster mad that not only she's so in love but also gets addicted to it. After number of thriller movies she starred in, she's now in negotiations to star in "The Brave One."

This also thriller has its script written by Cynthia Mort based on an original script by Roderick and Bruce Taylor. In the film Foster is set to portray a woman who is struggling to recover from a brutal attack and apparently sets out on a "dark, psychological and physical journey for revenge and justice."

I thought it was an excellent movie, thought provoking and finds reasons instead of excuses for why some people go bad and why society doesn't always mind.
