Taking surprising turn in his prolific acting career, has given his agreement to have a starring part in "", a live-action adaptation of the popular fashion doll line of Crystal Sky Pictures and MGA Entertainment production in association with Avi Arad Productions.

Set to hit theaters on August 10 this year through Lionsgate Films, the flick finds Logan Browning, Janel Parrish, Skyler Shaye, and Nathalia Ramos as Sasha, Jade, Cloe, and Yasmin, respectively, who bond together over the ups and downs of adolescent life at Carry Nation High. Voight will portray the domineering principal whose daughter Meredith, played by Chelsea Staub, is responsible for the pressures of disparate cliques at the school.

Back to the film industry after her last uncredited appearance in Steve Rash's 1987 effort "Can't Buy Me Love", has agreed to both star in and executive produce "" as well as to consult on the flick's casting, music, dancing and fashion, Variety has reported.

The beauty, who said she was drawn to the film's message, will become a key part in discovering talent for the picture. The movie itself tells about four teenage girls from different economic and social backgrounds who bond together over the ups and downs of adolescent life at Lewis & Clark High School.

Everything appears to go quite smooth for "." After successfully taking "" helmer Sean McNamara in, the project now is getting Lionsgate Films on its side as the company has reportedly acquired the domestic distribution rights to the flick as well as the exclusive North American home entertainment rights to the animated features of the franchise that will be go directly to DVD format.

Scheduled to begin filming in February next year, the picture will be the first live-action movie based on the popular "Bratz" fashion dolls. The story concerns four teenage girls coming from different social and economic background who join forces together under the name of Bratz.

Back to the big screen after his last feature directorial work of "" for New Line Cinema, California-based filmmaker Sean McNamara has reportedly been appointed to helm "", a live-action feature of the popular toy franchise of which spin-off products include a magazine and an animated series on 4 KidsTV.

A collaborative project of MGA Entertainment, Inc., Avi Arad Productions, and Crystal Sky Pictures which handles the film's financial matters, pic is tentatively slated to begin filming early February in Los Angeles with John Doolittle penning the script. Isaac Larian, Avi Arad, and Steven Paul are all producing while Benedict Carver will executive produce.
