'Juno' and 'Superbad' Among 2008 MTV Movie Awards Nominees

Continuing its annual celebration of honoring best films and Hollywood's talents, MTV is gearing up for 17th MTV Movie Awards by announcing the list of nominees up for the golden popcorn statuettes on Tuesday, May 6. Among those nominated for the special event, Judd Apatow's comedy "" and Jason Reitman's acclaimed dramedy "" show off their dominations by collecting 5 and 4 nods respectively.

Though mostly the two movies garnered gongs in different categories, they would have to battle it up for the supreme prize, Best Movie award. In the particular category, they also will be facing stiff competitions from four other blockbuster nominees, "", "", "" and "".

American Gangster Sued by Former DEA Agents

Though well-praised by movie critics, it doesn't mean that "" is free from controversy. According to reports, NBC Universal, the owner of Universal Studios which produced the film, has been sued by a group of retired DEA agents on Wednesday, January 16. The three former federal drug enforcement agents filed a $55 million defamation lawsuit in federal court in Manhattan claiming that the Ridley Scott directed-film has falsely made them to be the villains.

Reportedly, Louis Diaz, Gregory Korniloff and Jack Toal believed that the studio who asserted that the film was based on a true story have misinterpreted the events surrounding Frank Lucas and New Jersey Detective Richard Roberts. Korniloff revealed in the suit that he was a lead agent assigned to the case and was present when agents and police officers raided Lucas' home in Teaneck, N.J. in 1975, the scene which is depicted in the film starring , and .

MARvelous -- far superior to "No County..." which is half a movie -- when he stops killing at random, so does the movie.

russell crow was great as the undercover cop, a very powerfull movie that i feel definitly deserves the time to watch.
