Third 'After Dark Horrorfest' Pushed Back
September 19, 2008 11:09:39The third annual After Dark Horrorfest '8 Films to Die For' event has been postponed. Reported firstly by Shock Till You Drop, the horror film festival featuring eight independent horror movies from After Dark Films is now scheduled to be kicked off on January 9, 2009 and wrapped up on January 15, 2009. The new dates put the special event to be started a week after its original plan on January 2 to 9.
Putting the revised dates aside, the organizers of the event have revealed where Horrorfest takes place, letting out the 30 cities which have been selected for the event. The list include Atlanta, New Orleans, Los Angeles, Boston, Chicago, San Diego, Washington, DC and New York. The rest of the city listing can be read at Horrorfest's official site.

Two International Trailers of 'Speed Racer' Available Online
March 10, 2008 01:03:21The studio that brought "10,000 B.C." and "I Am Legend" Warner Bros. Pictures have released two brand new international trailers of the upcoming family movie "Speed Racer". The trailers each last for about one and a half minutes and contain pretty much the same compilation of clips with different sequences.
The trailers showcase many never before seen footages from the highly anticipated film by the Wachowski brothers. The two video footages give out glimpses to the hard-core racing competition where a slightest mistake can cause a devastating result. Unlike the domestic trailer, these international trailers let out much of the animation parts from the film starring Emile Hirsch and Matthew Fox.

Miranda Otto Gets the Job Done in "9 Weeks"
June 15, 2007 10:06:08Last seen on the big screen in Steven Spielberg's 2005 blockbuster "War of the Worlds", Miranda Otto is making her way back to film industry now as the Australian actress has already signed on to star in crime drama "How to Change in 9 Weeks" for Icon Film Distribution.
Based on actual events, the movie presents the story a 15-year-old Australian student, Rachel Barber, who went missing in Melbourne in 1999 and was found to have been murdered by a former childhood friend, Caroline Reid. Otto is said to portray Barber's mother with Guy Pearce appearing as the girl's father.

The 2007 Empire Awards Recipients Announced
March 28, 2007 03:03:05Collecting the votes from its readers, Britain's biggest selling film magazine Empire has finally listed out the honorees of its Empire Awards of which ceremony was held in London for the twelfth time.
Based on the votes, collected from over 50,000 people, the magazine proudly gave the top prize of Best Film to latest installment of 007 series "Casino Royale", in the meantime also named stars Daniel Craig and Eva Green the Best Actor and Best Female Newcomer, respectively.

Apparently, in the week ended Sunday April 30th, 2006, the North America box office is dominated by the family-friendly road-trip comedy "R.V." which opens at No. 1 on the chart, scoring $16.4 million in ticket sales.
Meanwhile, the acclaimed Sept. 11 drama "United 93" debuts at 2nd place with $11.6 million, just one place ahead of "Stick It" which opens at No. 3 with $11.3 million. Last weekend's top movie, "Silent Hill" is at No. 4, taking in $9.3 million, followed after by "Scary Movie 4" at No. 5 with $7.8 million, and "The Sentinel" at No. 6 with $7.6 million.
