Rage Against the Machine Added to Lollapalooza?
March 13, 2008 10:03:56There have been rumors swirling around that the reunited Rage Against the Machine will also appear at Lollapalooza. According to The Chicago Sun-Times, the rock band will join other rumored acts like Wilco, Radiohead and Nine Inch Nails at the festival taking place on August 1 to 3 in Grant Park, Chicago.
The official line-up of the music festival will only be announced next month, but should the four bands really are on the bill, then this would be one of the biggest and most-anticipated events of the year. C3, the Texas-based company that is behind the festival will not confirm any of the act, stating that they cannot confirm or deny anything at the moment.

Wilco Explains Songs Used in VW Ads
June 06, 2007 02:06:11
Wilco finally gave their explanation on why more than four of their new songs are used in the Volkswagen ads. The band defends the car company by writing on their site that the VW ads claimed the songs licensed off their latest album "Sky Blue Sky".
The statement on the site read: "With the commercial radio airplay route getting more difficult for many bands (including Wilco); we see this as another way to get the music out there. As with most of the above (with the debatable exception of radio) the band gets paid for this. And we feel okay about VWs. Several of us even drive them."
Wilco's Newly Announced Gigs
April 05, 2007 11:04:51
Prior Jeff Tweedy's solo gig in Chicago, IL on April 6, he will tour with his band Wilco in Australia, Europe and North America. The two different sets of tour to support "Sky Blue Sky" have kept the band's schedule packed up to July 20.
First kicking off for Australian tour, Wilco will embark from Brisbane on April 16 and proceed with two nights shows at Melbourne's Palais Theatre and Sydney's Enmore Theatre before wrapping up in Perth on April 22. All along these dates, Glenn Richards of Australian rock band Augie March will come in support.
Wilco's New Album Leaks on the Internet, Again
March 12, 2007 09:03:39
For the third time, Wilco's new album leaks on the Internet prior its release date. "Sky Blue Sky" is intended to be released officially on May 15, yet its download sales can be accessed almost three months earlier.
This is not the first time for Wilco as the band's previous two albums had experienced the same thing. "Yankee Hotel Foxtrot" (2002) was out on the Internet before its planned release date and so did "A Ghost is Born" (2004).
Responding to this Wilco's frontman Jeff Tweedy is both disappointed and proud at the same time. "There's probably some good argument to be made that (the latest online leak) will prevent a few people from buying the record," he said in a statement. "But there's also the idea that I believe is true for us, which is, it's people listening to our music."

Commenting on his becoming a new man and his coming back as Wilco frontman, Tweedy commented "I'm enjoying everything a lot more than I probably have most of my life. I'm more excited than I've ever felt. I don't really have any idea about where it's going. I just know that it's still going and I'm awake."
