Modest Mouse Brings the Heat to US' Download Fest

In the third cycle, U.S. version of U.K's Download Festival will present as one of the headliners. Taking place at Tweeter Center, Boston starting from August 18, the festival will also feature , and Wolf Parade as the sidekicks band.

The Live Nation-owned festival will take more than the usual three-day course. There will be venues at Gorge Amphitheatre in George, Wash. on August 25, at the Alpine Valley Music Theatre in East Troy, Wis. on Sept. 1 and also at the Shoreline Amphitheatre in Mountain View, Calif. on Oct. 6. More dates are following to be announced this month. Tickets to these shows will go on sale beginning June.

In another major week for new releases, reaches the best achievement in the US album chart for the week ended Sunday January 28th. The hip-hop boy band has ended the "" soundtrack's reign at the top of the Billboard 200 with their LP, "", sold 132,000 copies, according to Nielsen SoundScan.

The group's new album beats "" by cult indie act who comes in 2nd with 118,000 copies sold. In the 3rd spot on the album chart is 's self-titled RCA debut, which held the No. 1 spot the previous week, sold another 80,000 copies. Following at No. 4 is the new release "2007 Grammy Nominees," a collection of 23 tracks from this year's award contenders, which sold 77,000 copies.

The 2006 Lollapalooza festival is coming. The blow-out event is scheduled to be held Aug. 4-6 in Chicago's Grant Park. Lollapalooza co-founder Perry Farrell has on Thursday March 16th, 2006 announced the lineup tapped to perform at the fest.
