Day three of this year's Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival was glittered by star-studded performances, including appearances from rapper . Among other songs performed by Lupe at the event were "Kick Push" and "Streets on Fire".

After that, Somali-Canadian artist K'Naan appeared on one of the festival's smaller tents. He entertained concertgoers at the concert with such tracks as "If Rap Gets Jealous" and "T.I.A.", which come from his third studio album "Troubadour".

's thirteenth studio album will be named "" and will be released on October 14 in U.S. No explanation given for the title's meaning, but the Geffen album has been circling on the number thirteen, releasing its singles in the past four months on every date 13.

Prior to the album's street date, an EP containing remixes of all the four spawned singles from the set will be put in the market first on September 13. The EP, which is called "Hypnagogic States" features the remixes by of , Jade Pudget of , 's Gerard Way and 's and Patrick Stump. Artist royalties from the EP sale will go to The International Red Cross.

Another musician has decided to lend a hand on the ongoing case of West Memphis Three. Robert Smith and his band donated a signed guitar which will be auctioned so that money from its sale can benefit the legal proceedings.

The guitar that is up for bidding is a Schecter RS-1000 acoustic that is personally designed by Smith and signed by the four members of the band. The specifications are "maple body with spruce top, maple and rosewood neck and specially designed white pearl moon and star inlays".

Time is all need right now. Leading to perfection, an amount of time is necessary to complete their new album, which is now confirmed to be a double CD. And for that North American Tour this fall will have to be pushed back.

The new trek is dated as far as April and May next year. The post in the band's website read, "The schedule as it stands only gives us a couple of weeks to finish our new double album before we hit the road again, and we know this just isn't enough time to complete the project to our total satisfaction."

Still with uncertain release date, 's 13th studio album is being postponed again to next spring, announced the band's label Geffen. The album that is planned to be a double pack is reported unfinished.

"The album got pushed to 2008, more like an April/May release. Robert is still recording," a spokeswoman from Geffen said on Thursday (August 9) in reference to frontman Robert Smith. The follow up to 2004's self-titled album was initially slated for this May but was postponed to October, presumably because Robert had difficulty in writing the lyrics, as he stated last year.

Smith told Billboard magazine, “What will probably happen is that a double album will come out like a limited edition, mixed by me, a single-disc version, which I assume will be primarily chosen by the label, might get mixed by someone else in order to have a different thing."

The Cure Promoting Untitled Album in Tour

After having a three-year absent, is back on road. The British rock act will kick off in a one-month jaunt to promote their latest 'mysterious' album.

The band chooses to embark from Tampa, Fla on September 13 and wrap up a month later on October 17 in Dallas. This tour will see the comeback of guitarist Porl Thompson who left the lots in 1993 and re-joined in 1995. That makes the band's current line-up as Robert Smith in vocal, Simon Gallup in bass and Jason Cooper in drum.

The 2007 Download Festival is adding some new artists to their already attention-grabbing line-up. , , and are the acts that will join previously announced , , and Wolf Parade.

More detailed arrangement of line-up for each day in the festival has also been announced. Modest Mouse, Wolf Parade, Band of Horses and Case will play the first part at Boston's Tweeter Center on August 18. While Robert Smith, the frontman of music group , has been busy working on a number of archival projects, he reveals that his band will in January next year hit the studio to record its next album. "We will now not be in the studio 'for real' until January 2006. But we are still on course for a summer release, as it's all in the preparation," Smith posted on the band's website (http://www.thecure.com).

As to everybody to know, the as yet titled new set will mark The Cure's first project since losing keyboardist Roger O'Donnell and guitarist Perry Bamonte, who left the band earlier this year. Besides, it will also be the first release since former guitarist Porl Thompson rejoined the group.

The "Incomplete" Cure

The Cure is now incomplete as its two members, keyboardist Roger O'Donnell and guitarist Perry Bamonte, decided to exit the U.K. rock act, leaving the band they've been worked together for nearly 20 years. On his Web site (http://www.rogerodonnell.com) O'Donnell wrote "As of Tuesday this week I am no longer a member of the Cure. It was sad to find out after nearly 20 years the way I did but then I should have expected no less or more."

Concerning O'Donnell and Bamonte's exit from The Cure, the band Web site confirmed that others could be part of the lineup. The new replacements, who will later work along with Robert Smith, Simon Gallup, and Jason Cooper, will then be unveiled on August 5 when the Cure play a festival in Castellon, Spain. Moreover, the band is also confirmed for festival dates in France, Switzerland and Turkey.
