2008 ALMA Awards Nominees Announced, the TV Categories
July 22, 2008 04:07:10The annual ALMA Awards will not be held until September later this year, but the list of the nominees is in already. Actress Eva Longoria and actor Cristian de la Fuente were the two stars who lent a helping hand announcing the awards nominees.
The 2008 ALMA Awards nominations were unveiled on Wisteria Lane at the Universal Studios Backlot in Universal City, Calif Monday, July 21. The actual awards event is slated to be aired live on ABC on Friday, September 12, 2008 at 8 P.M. ET.

Kate Walsh and Alex Young said "I do", finally. The actress and film executive exchanged vows in a fairytale ceremony Saturday September 1st at the Ojai Presbyterian Church, a few hours outside of Los Angeles.
Walsh wore a custom-made Monique Lhuillier dress, while Young wore the requisite penguin suit.

Sara Ramirez gets her turn. The actress who won an Outstanding Performance by an Ensemble in a Drama Series Screen Actors Guild Award for her role as Dr. Calliope "Callie" Torres in "Grey's Anatomy," is the latest celebrity to promote the "Got Milk?" ads.
The ad, featuring Ramirez in a red curvy dress, reads, "Great anatomy. In show business your figure, well, shows. That's why I drink milk. Studies suggest the nutrients in milk can play an important role in maintaining a healthy weight. Staying active, eating right, and drinking 24 ounces of lowfat or fat free milk a day helps you look your best. Bravo."

Nominations for this year American Latino Media Arts (ALMA) Awards had been announced Monday April 16th during a press conference at the Beverly Hilton Hotel in Beverly Hills, California with Eva Longoria served as host alongside best friend Mario Lopez and NCLR President and CEO Janet Murguia.
On the television category, HBO's "Walkout", plus ABC's "George Lopez" and "Ugly Betty" are the nominees vying for the Outstanding TV Series, Mini-Series, or TV Movie award. The series' male stars, including the likes of George Lopez and Michael Pena, are nominated for the Outstanding Actor- TV Series, Mini-Series, or TV Movie award.
