'Iron Man 2': The War Machine Team-Up Addressed
November 04, 2009 12:11:28More details on the War Machine of "Iron Man 2" have been spilled. Dropping by MTV recently, Sam Rockwell who will be seen as Justin Hammer in the "Iron Man" sequel gave an interesting scoop on the relationship between his Tony Stark's rival character and Don Cheadle's Colonel James "Rhodey" Rhodes.
Of the two characters' alliance, the 40-year-old actor said, "Don and I, we're working together. He works with me in spite of some of my personality flaws." Calling Hammer "a bit of a shark" in explaining the "personality flaws" remark, he then detailed that "Don's character, Rhodey, needs to work with me. He has no choice. So we team up and we build this fabulous War Machine."
'Iron Man 2': Sam Rockwell on Justin Hammer
September 28, 2009 02:09:33Beside Whiplash, Tony Stark will have another foe known by the name of Justin Hammer to be taken care of in "Iron Man 2", and Sam Rockwell, the actor taking on the role, has described his baddie character to IGN. "He's a rival of Tony's - they are competitors in the weapons industry," Rockwell shared when promoting "Gentlemen Broncos" at Fantastic Fest in Austin, Texas.
Explaining the relationship between Hammer and Whiplash, the 40-year-old said, "I team up with Mickey Rourke and we decide we want to take him down and take down the Stark legacy." He then compared the baddie to his "Charlie's Angel" character Eric Knox, saying "He's sort of like a cousin of the Charlie's Angels character I played. The smarmy cousin. But it's Mickey - he does the fighting and the kicking ass in the film."

'Iron Man 2' Pics: Rhodey Rhodes, Pepper Potts and Others
July 18, 2009 09:07:28Entertainment Weekly's Comic-Con preview issue apparently did not only tease on how Scarlett Johansson portrays femme fatale Black Widow in "Iron Man 2", but also the look of several other main characters. Slash Film has got its hands on the mag's scanned photos that expose Gwyneth Paltrow as Pepper Potts, Don Cheadle as Rhodey Rhodes and Sam Rockwell as Justin Hammer.
One of the images captures Paltrow's Potts talking to Robert Downey Jr.'s Tony Stark in what appears to be a court room. Another one sees Cheadle, who replaced Terrence Howard as Colonel James "Rhodey" Rhodes, at some kind of court hearing with Rockwell's fast-talking weapons manufacturer character in the background. The last one exhibits director Jon Favreau and Downey Jr. watching playback from a boxing ring.
'Iron Man 2': Sam Rockwell's Justin Hammer Different From Comic
May 06, 2009 10:05:14One of Tony Stark's nemeses, Justin Hammer, is getting a redesign in "Iron Man 2". When attending the Tribeca Film Festival for his science-fiction thriller "Moon" debut, the actor who has been billed to play Hammer, Sam Rockwell, shared a bit of insight into director Jon Favreau's approach to the character with MTV News.
Addressing the difference of the character in the movie and the comics, the 40-year-old explained that unlike the comic books wherein Hammer is portrayed as a white-haired and geriatric rival industrialist of Tony Stark, the movie will see him in his younger year. "They wanted to go with a rival for Tony Stark who is closer to his age," he reasoned on the new look, "and make him American."
