Here comes another surprise from music industry. Bob Dylan is back at the top of the album charts with his new set "Modern Times" sold 192,000 copies in the week ended Sunday September 3rd. Hence, with such attainment during the album's first week of release, Dylan has successfully made his first time record in 30 years.
Greater than that, "Modern Times" also topped the charts in Australia, New Zealand, Denmark, Ireland, Norway and Switzerland, while opening at number two in Germany, Austria and Sweden. What's more, in the UK alone, the music project gave Dylan a personal single-week sales record with 55,000 copies at number three.

The US album charts for the week ended Sunday August 27th saw the prominence of the MTV-constructed band, Danity Kane, as the music act topped the top spot with their album "Danity Kane" sold 234,000 copies according to Nielsen SoundScan. In the meantime, OutKast's "Idlewild" opened at No. 2 with the LaFace release sold 196,000 units.
With the emerge of the new chart-toppers, reigning champ Christina Aguilera's RCA album "Back to Basics" fell to the 3rd spot with 135,000, ahead of Mexican rock group Mana's "Amar Es Combatir" at No. 4 sold 87,000 copies. With such attainment, the Mexican rock group indeed scored the highest charting and biggest debut for a Spanish-language album for a duo or group on The Billboard 200.
Big Boi to Tour Without Andre 3000?

New rumors surface by the hour that Big Boi plans to kick off an upcoming tour under the name of OutKast but without Andre 3000. The hip-hopper reportedly says that Andre will not be joining him on the upcoming tour.
Such report reminds us of an impending breakup of OutKast back in the public spotlight, which have surrounded the group since the release of "Speakerboxxx/The Love Below".

OutKast takes off in 2006 with two new projects all at once, the first of which happens to be a new album and the other one is a movie project. The Atlanta hip hop-duo set to hit hard the industry with the release of their highly anticipated set, titled "Idlewild", which will hit store shelves on Aug. 22.
The long-anticipated release will serve as the soundtrack for the Universal/HBO Films release of the same name, open August 25, as well. Also starring in the big-screen musical are Ving Rhames, Ben Vereen, Cicely Tyson, Patti LaBelle and Macy Gray.
OutKast's Movie Musical Goes to Universal
September 10, 2005 10:09:47The as of yet untitled movie musical from OutKast and HBO Films, which previously titled "My Life in Idlewild," goes to Universal Pictures. The home production announces a deal has been made to secure distribute rights to the film, directed by Bryan Barber, OutKast's longtime music video collaborator.
The film, which is set in a 1930s Southern speakeasy, centers on two characters, Percival, played by Andre 3000, the club's piano player, and Rooster, played by Antwan Patton, the club's lead performer and manager, through intersecting stories of love and ambition. The movie, also will feature new songs from OutKast and Bryan's next album, a soundtrack disc that will be released through LaFace/Zomba Label Group in the fourth quarter.
OutKast's Big Boi Heads "Purple"
May 21, 2005 11:05:03Big Boi of the successful duo OutKast is readying the first release on his Purple Ribbon Entertainment label, which was originally a joint project with Andre 3000. The lucky number one to be released is rapper Killer Mike's new album, which is set to hit the market August 30 through Columbia Records.
Coming soon will be a Virgin-distributed release from white Atlanta rapper Bubba Sparxxx. Following then Sleepy Brown, Konkrete and Star.
Outkast Settles with Rosa Parks
April 18, 2005 09:04:59Hip-hop group Outkast have settled their long dispute with icon Rosa Parks, who is known for refusing to give up her seat on a Montgomery, Alabama, bus to a white woman, over the use of her name for the song "Rosa Parks" off the duo's Aquemini album.
The points of the settlement mention among others that Parks will live in comfort for the rest of her life, she will be well taken care of, and that a music CD will be produced by Sony BMG, with OutKast among the performers. Moreover, the settlement also promises for a television tribute in honor of Parks who has made America a better place for all races. A DVD of the program, in addition, will be distributed to thousands of schools.
