'Glee' Dominates 14th Satellite Awards TV Noms
November 30, 2009 02:11:16"Glee" is shining in the nomination list released by Satellite Awards for its 14th year. The new musical by FOX makes the entry in every TV category possible through the show itself as well as the actors. The nominees were selected through voting by International Press Academy's members which included more than 100 entertainment journalists.
Jane Lynch, Chris Colfer, Lea Michele and Matthew Morrison represent the show for the categories of Supporting Actress, Supporting Actor, Lead Actress and Lead Actor in Comedy or Musical respectively. The show itself is being put under Television Series, Comedy or Musical.
'How I Met Your Mother' Officially Hires Amanda Peet
November 21, 2009 11:11:45Neil Patrick Harris' dream comes true quite fast as it is announced that Amanda Peet will indeed guest star on "How I Met Your Mother". There is no clue yet what kind of role Peet will play but TV Guide said her cameo will be in a January episode.
On Thursday, November 19, Harris who plays Barney in the sitcom said that he has Peet in mind for a guest star. "You know, she's never guest-starred on any shows before and plus, she's already worked with Jason Segel once on 'Gulliver's Travels'," he told E! Online. Segel is Marshall in "HIMYM".

Neil Patrick Harris opening number and a dance sequence by several dancers from shows such as "Dancing with the Stars" and "So You Think You Can Dance" were among the highlighted moments apart from the winners revelation.
Harris, wearing white Tuxedo, worked the stage with a Broadway number of "Put Down That Remote". His performance included a shout out to Tina Fey who won as the impersonation of Sarah Palin, Tony Shalhoub whose name rhymes with tuba, and Shirley MacLaine as well as Drew Barrymore who "everyday look luscious and cool".

Spaghetti Storm in New 'Cloudy With a Chance' Clip

The snippet is a little more than one minute long and opens to an introduction from Neil Patrick Harris who gives voice to Steve the Monkey. It features the scene where the town is being hit by spaghetti storm and Flint Lockwood is trying to fix it.
Inspired by the children's book written by author Judi Barrett and illustrated by Ron Barrett, the 3-D animated film attempts to tell the origins of the unique weather in the town of Chewandswallow. It follows Flint Lockwood, a young inventor who tries to solve world hunger by making food fall from the sky like rain. However, things go terribly wrong when excess amounts of food overload cities and towns.

Harris would be the second male judge added as the substitute of Paula Abdul after Joe Jonas of Jonas Brothers. But he is the first celebrity who comes from non-recording-artist background although he indeed owns a Broadway experience such as "Rent" where he was required to sing a few numbers.

July 03, 2009 09:07:25After being "in talks" to be the host of Primetime Emmy Awards this year, Neil Patrick Harris is now officially on duty to lead the event on Sunday, September 20. Sources are telling EW that the "How I Met Your Mother" star has signed the contract.
No statement is made yet from Academy of Television Arts and Sciences, but a formal announcement is expected to be made "early next week". The annual event, which enters its 61st year, will be held at Los Angeles' Nokia Theater and broadcast live by CBS. The nominations, meanwhile, will be revealed on Thursday, July 16.

Both stars thus will be on hand announcing the nominees for the awards festive, along with John Shaffner, the chairman and CEO of the Academy of Television Arts & Sciences.
The announcement is scheduled to take place on Thursday, July 17 at 5:40 A.M. PDT at the TV Academy in North Hollywood, Calif. The actual awards ceremony itself is set to take place on September 21 and will be broadcast on ABC.

In fact, according to AICN, the filmmakers behind the comedy starring Kal Penn and John Cho may be having a spin-off with Neil Patrick Harris in it.
When asked by the movie news site about the possibility of having a spin-off from the films, Harris revealed his excitement. "Part of me thinks that would be really hilarious just to make up this fictitious back story of my family and that makes me think of Steve Martin in THE JERK, just going really outlandish and then part of me thinks that is just truly jumping the shark, so I don't know," he also told AICN. "When you are spinning off a character that's based on a real person, but not real...I don't know, it might be too much, but if anyone can write it..."

Rounding out the companions to John Cho and Kal Penn for the "Harold and Kumar Go to White Castle" follow-up, Mandate Pictures and New Line Cinema have smoothly included eleven more names to the project's cast list, The Hollywood Reporter has learned.
Five of them namely David Krumholtz, Neil Patrick Harris, Eddie Kaye Thomas, Christopher Meloni, and Paula Garces are the cast member from the first installment of the franchise while the rest six are new players consisting of Rob Corddry, Ed Helms, Jack Conley, Roger Bart, Danneel Harris, and Eric Winter.

Apparently Kal Penn and John Cho will still have their buddy Neil Patrick Harris sticking close to them in the "Harold and Kumar Go to White Castle" sequel. Penn has recently confirmed that the "Doogie Howser, M.D." star will be back for more mayhem in the project, of which script is handled once more by Jon Hurwitz and Hayden Schlossberg.
"Neil Patrick Harris comes back," so the actor stated. "The first one had a lot of good actors that were friends of ours - Jamie Kennedy, Ryan Reynolds, Eddie Kaye Thomas - who just came in and tore it up. We're trying for the same thing."
