Winners of 2009 mtvU Woodie Awards, Kings of Leon Get the Top Honor
November 19, 2009 02:11:04Winners for this year's mtvU Woodie Awards have been announced during a pre-taped show on November 18. Kings of Leon took home the top honor, Woodie of the Year, beating Asher Roth, Drake, MGMT and Silversun Pickups.
Green Day were honored with Performing Woodie. Meanwhile, Matt and Kim received Best Video Woodie and this year's youngest nominee Never Shout Never won Breaking Woodie. Other winners were Tech N9ne who claimed Left Field Woodie and Jamie Tworkowski who was given the Good Woodie.

September 14, 2009 11:09:00Losing Best Female Video to Taylor Swift, Beyonce Knowles managed to walk home with a trophy for Video of the Year at the September 13 live ceremony of MTV Video Music Awards, thanks to her "Single Ladies (Put a Ring on It)" music video. She won over Lady GaGa, Eminem, Kanye West and Britney Spears.
"This is amazing," Beyonce told those attending the event. "I remember being 17-years-old, up for my first MTV award with Destiny's Child and it was one of the most exciting moments of my life." She then asked Taylor to come to the stage and finish her speech which was previously cut off by Kanye.
2009 MTV VMAs: T.I. Takes Home Best Male Video
September 14, 2009 09:09:32More winners were revealed at the September 13 ceremony of the 26th Annual MTV Video Music Awards. This time, P. Diddy went onto the stage, announcing who was lucky to receive Best Male Video.
T.I. got the honor, thanks to his "Live Your Live" music video which guest stars Rihanna. There was no acceptance speech because the rapper is currently serving a 366-day prison sentence for felony weapons charges.
