February 09, 2009 10:02:59The 2009 Orange British Academy of Film and Television Arts (BAFTA) Awards, held in London on Sunday, February 8, was a star-studded event despite the heavy rain. Big names in Hollywood movie industry showed up to the gala ceremony, including mega-watt couple, Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie.
The longtime partners walked the red carpet together and drew huge cheers. Jolie was snapped donning a black silk crepe Giorgio Armani evening gown. She finished off her look with a pair of Christian Louboutin heels and a bracelet and diamond-studded earrings, both from Asprey. Pitt, meanwhile, wore Tom Ford tuxedo.
Winners of 2009 Online Film Critics Society Awards
January 20, 2009 12:01:45Online Film Critics Society have announced the winners of 2009 Online Film Critics Society Awards on Monday, January 19. Among those lucky enough to bring home the kudos were Warner Bros.' superhero movie "The Dark Knight", Magnet Releasing's horror drama "Let the Right One In (2008)" and Disney/Pixar animation "Wall-E".
Both "The Dark Knight" and "Let the Right One In" collected four prizes each, while "Wall-E" nabbed three. "Dark Knight" won Best Director for Christopher Nolan, Best Supporting Actor for Heath Ledger, Best Cinematography for Wally Pfister, and Best Original Score for James Newton Howard and Hans Zimmer.
Marisa Tomei Stripteasing in 'The Wrestler'
February 12, 2008 02:02:33The Mona Lisa Vito in 1992's crime comedy "My Cousin Vinny" Marisa Tomei has agreed to join the cast of independent drama "The Wrestler". According to Variety, the 43-year-old actress has been signed to star as the leading female in the Darren Aronofsky directed-film.
Playing opposite "Man on Fire" star Mickey Rourke, the Academy Award-winning actress is set to depict a stripper who lives under one roof with Randy "The Ram" Robinson. Rourke will be playing The Ram, a wrestler who was forced to retire following a heart attack.
The 2008 Spirit Awards Nominations Revealed

Film Independent as the organization holding the annual event announced Tuesday morning (Nov. 27) the lineup of nominees for the prizes at West Hollywood's Softel Hotel, represented by Lisa Kudrow and Zach Braff.
Squeaking ahead of the pack, currently-showing "I'm Not There" gloriously nabs four nominations plus the inaugural Robert Altman Award, notably that of Best Feature. To win the top honor, however, pic has to compete against "Juno" and "The Diving Bell and the Butterfly" which also receive four nods each apart from other contenders of "A Mighty Heart" and "Paranoid Park."
Stars Get Fussy Over "Stuff"

Heating up the current flow of high-profile projects to come on the big screen, Millennium Films has successfully signed big names of John Cusack, Hilary Duff, and Marisa Tomei to all star in "Brand Hauser: Stuff Happens", known previously as "War Inc.."
A dark political satire, pic revolves around an assassin, played by Cusack, who covers himself as an organizer of a big trade show that includes a wedding between a local pop star and a politicon in his effort to kill a Middle East oil minister. Production is slated to begin late this month in Bulgaria with Josh Seftel at helm.

After having himself involved in an indie movie project "The Savages", Hoffman is ready to join Uma Thurman's former hubby, Ethan Hawke in the story of siblings trying to rob their own parents' jewelry store, "Before the Devils". The movie is going to take place in New York, together with other Hollywood stars, Albert Finney and "Loverboy" actress, Marisa Tomei. The producer is Michael Cerenzie, while Lumet, Kelly Masterson and Austin Chick will bear the credits as the scriptwriters.
Tomei Joining "Danika"
July 07, 2005 10:07:59The psychological thriller "Danika," which is made by Roberts/David Films Inc. and Blue Omega and which screenplay written by Joshua Leibner, will be shot in the L.A. area and Maryland. Joining to play in it, including Craig Bierko, Regina Hall and Marisa Tomei.
Tomei is set to play the title character, a woman whose fears for her children are manifested in premonitions of death and disaster. Bierko will play Tomei's husband, while Hall acts as her psychiatrist and confidant.
