Co-written by the band's lead vocalist, John Rzeznik, the song is featured on the AT&T Team USA Soundtrack, a compilation containing exclusive tracks by different artists to benefit and encourage the U.S. Olympic Team.
The video for the tune starts with the band entering a stage with huge American national flag as its backdrop. They then perform the song in a high excitement to represent their spirit for the country.

Artists involved in the compilation of exclusive rock, pop, R&B, rap and country music are 3 Doors Down, Army of Me, Colbie Caillat, Clique Girlz, Sheryl Crow, Chris Brown, Flipsyde, Luis Fonsi, Goo Goo Dolls, Josh Kelley, Lady Antebellum, Queen Latifah, Mere, Nelly, Taylor Swift and Kate Voegele.
Gathering together for the soundtrack, some of the artists shared their feeling on making the tracks and how important was the project for them.
Goo Goo Dolls' New Album Aimed Before Year Ends
April 24, 2008 11:04:30Goo Goo Dolls have dished out details of their new album, which is expected to be released in the fourth quarter of this year. The band have announced through their official site back in February that a new album is in the work and to Billboard.com the band has just confirmed that at least 25 songs have been in line but there's only "four, maybe five keepers right now."
Frontman John Rzeznik said that they will be back to their rock roots in the new set after tackling several semi-rock tunes in the previous release, "Let Love In". He explained, "We're really more of a rock band, which is kind of the approach that we're taking with the new album. That means all of us playing live in the studio and kind of under-producing it."
Goo Goo Dolls to Release Stronger Album and Greatest Vol.2
October 30, 2007 01:10:30Goo Goo Dolls want more "muscle" in their next record. The rock band - that will release the first volume of their greatest hits compilation on November 13 - said that there will be a work with new producers who will give their upcoming album the energy of playing live.
"I want the next record to have a little more of an edge on it," frontman John Rzeznik told Billboard.com. "I don't want the rough edges taken off so much. The band's gonna play live on it more, not so many overdubs. I want it to sound more like we do live. It's a lot more energy. It's a more aggressive sound."

FOX's new reality show, The Next Great American Band, has begun taking shape. Three judges and a host for the show have been appointed to be the other version of American Idol's Simon Cowell, Randy Jackson, Paula Abdul and Ryan Seacrest.
Goo Goo Dolls' frontman John Rzeznik joins percussionist Sheila E., who is notable being Prince's drummer, and TV personality Ian Dickson to sit at the judging panel for the show. Serving as the host is New Zealand Idol presenter, Dominic Bowen.
Goo Goo Dolls Releasing 1st Volume of Retrospective Album

Rock band Goo Goo Dolls are releasing the first volume of their retrospective collection. Titled 'Greatest Hits, Vol. 1', the album will have fourteen tracks compiled from the band's previous hits including 'Iris' until the recent 'Before It's Too Late (Sam and Mikaela's Theme)'.
Beside the 'Transformers' soundtrack, there's also a theme song for 'Treasure Planet' called 'I'm Still Here (Jim's Theme) that frontman Johnny Rzeznik did as a solo in 2002. The compilation will be dropped in stores November 13 via Warner Bros. Records.
Goo Goo Dolls Confirmed UK Visit

American alternative rock band Goo Goo Dolls will visit UK in a number if shows. During the summer they will play at 7 different venues that include three festivals.
Kicking off at Oxegen Festival, Ireland on July 7, the band will stop at Scotland on July 8, Sheffield on July 10, Manchester on July 11 and London on August 16 before performing two-night shows at V festival on August 18-19.
Gas Explosions Halt Goo Goo Dolls Concert

Music act Goo Goo Dolls was forced to cancel their concert at the Emerald Theatre Wednesday afternoon May 3rd, 2006 following a failure in an underground electrical line that caused a series of gas explosions that sent utility hole covers flying.
What a fortunate that the blast caused no injury, though it forced evacuation of part of the downtown for several hours besides caused some property damage. Speaking on the incident, a DTE Energy Co. spokesman said the day's unusually warm weather led to a spike in demand for electricity as people turned on air conditioners.

The U.S. pop charts sees another new winner as Boston metal band Godsmack rules the race on the very top position with its latest release "IV". The set sold 211,000 copies in the week ended April 30. Meanwhile, rock quintet Taking Back Sunday's "Louder Now" bows at No.2 with 158,000 units.
Bruce Springsteen's "We Shall Overcome: The Seeger Sessions" opens at No. 3 with 149,000 copies, ahead of Avant's "Director" at No. 4 with 123,000 copies. Rihanna's sophomore Def Jam album, "A Girl Like Me" opens at No. 5 sold 115,000 copies in its first week. Country trio Rascal Flatts' "Me and My Gang" slid to No. 6 with 111,000 copies.
Goo Goo Dolls Bassist Keeps Busy
July 04, 2005 09:07:20Robby Takac, Goo Goo Dolls bassist, is in the schools supplying donated instruments collected by his Music is Art Foundation. There, at the Albright-Knox Art Museum, he curating an exhibit and helping an HMO raise awareness of lead paint-related illnesses. Moreover, he also is brainstorming with his alma mater, Medaille College, on music-teaching ideas.
Express in words what he's done, Takac admits, "I don't consider myself any kind of, like, philanthropist, or any sort of weird, self-righteous savior of the universe or anything like that. It's just, coincidentally, I'm having the time of my life and great things are happening, so I may as well keep it rolling."
