Emmylou Harris Among 2008 Country Hall of Fame Inductees
February 13, 2008 12:02:46The Country Music hall of Fame have added a fresh batch of inductees that will be included as their members this year. Four musicians from the genre have been selected, including singer Emmylou Harris, singer/songwriter Tom T. Hall, country group The Statler Brothers and late singer/songwriter Ernest "Pop" Stoneman.
The line-up was announced on Tuesday, February 12 by Country Music Association and the four acts will be formally inducted at the annual medallion ceremony tentatively set for April 27. With their inclusion, the Hall of Fame is totaled to have 105 members.

No solo album in four years, Emmylou Harris comes with two sets this year, a new album already in progress and a career-long record to be released on September 18 via Rhino.
Illustrating more than 30 years of career, an-80 tracks set is comprised of materials from her earlier albums, her never-before-released songs and a number of tribute songs for other artists. The country crooner herself did the compiling which will occupy four CDs and a DVD.

Grammy winning songwriter Jesse Harris has compiled a list of soundtracks that will be performed by artists like Norah Jones, Cat Power, Bright Eyes, Black Keys, Emmylou Harris and Willie Nelson.
The record that earmarks all of the music in support of Ethan Hawke-directed movie "The Hottest State" will arrive August 7 via Hickory Records.
Nashville's Music City Honors Its Inductees

A new batch of inductees was introduced last Sunday. Nashville's Music City Walk of Fame honored musicians such as Wynonna Judd, Emmylou Harris, Michael W. Smith, John Hiatt, The Crickets and Frances W. Preston.
"The greatest credit to a writer is to have good writers cover their songs, John's songs have been recorded by Bob Dylan, Bruce Springsteen and Willie Nelson," said Nitty Gritty Dirt Band's Jeff Hanna who handed Hiatt's honorary. Actor Jim Caviezel on behalf of Smith said that the singer and songwriter has been such an inspiration both for him and other musicians.
