Deftones Christening Sixth Album 'Eros'
January 17, 2008 02:01:53Deftones announced that their sixth studio album will be titled 'Eros'. This record would be the first from the band with full self-production.
The band said that this album will be "definitely weird" and more atmospheric than their last effort, 'Saturday Night Wrist' that peaked at #10 on Billboard Hot 200. They had changed the style of recording their albums to make them faster in completing this piece. If previously they e-mailed parts of songs to each other, frontman Chino Moreno revealed that "this time, we were all together and that really helped."

Always generating eagerness for their unique and experimental work, Deftones may treat its fans with the kind of excitement the end of this year. Spilling the idea of a new album, frontman Chino Moreno said that the band has some materials already in file.
Moreno said that the band has been writing in a room with only instruments in hands and no ProTools whatsoever. Regarding the sound produced, Moreno said that it's too early to say since only a number of songs are already completed.

The Disney Channel's "Hannah Montana" soundtrack, which features music from the show's star Miley Cyrus, remains firmly at No. 1 on the Billboard Top 200 Chart for the second week in a row, selling 203,000 copies in the United States in the week ended Wednesday Nov 8th, according to Nielsen SoundScan.
Veteran pop vocalist Barry Manilow's "The Greatest Songs of the Sixties" follows at 2nd spot with 202,000 copies. Though fails to score his second No. 1 of the year, the singer is still the only artist this year to have two albums in the top two chart positions with his previous effort "The Greatest Songs of the Fifties" took the top spot in February with 156,000 copies.
Deftones to Drop New Album, Reveals Tour Plans

Prior to the release of their new album, "Saturday Night Wrist" which is due to hit stores on Halloween 2006, Sacramento rockers Deftones will embark on a 22-date U.S. tour, kicked off on October 26th in Oklahoma City.
The jaunt, held to support the band's new effort, will see a performance from rock band Deadsy who's been booked as the trek's opener.

Give applause to Korn who after five years hiatus manages to resurrect their Family Values tour. The music act reportedly are getting ready to go on a summer tour around USA with the help from the likes of Deftones, Stone Stour, Felyleaf and some Japanese new-comers to the rock scene, all of whom to join them on the trek.
The "new" Family Values tour will be begun on July 27th at Virginia Beach with tickets worth for $9.99. Aside from the main stage, where Korn and the already onboard supporting performers will play, there will also be a second stage with bands to be announced soon.
