2009 ALMA Awards Honorees in TV

National Council of La Raza's CEO Janet Murguira announced on Tuesday, August 25 with the assistance of Executive Producer Eva Longoria, the names of people crowding the honorees list.
The category in TV is divided into two according to the show's genre, comedy and drama. Showing a domination in the former category is the cast ensemble of "Ugly Betty". Meanwhile in drama, "Lost" and "Dexter" each brought in three of their actors.

announced the winners of the 24th annual Imagen Awards. At the event held at Beverly Hilton on Friday night, August 21, Walt Disney Pictures' "Beverly Hills Chihuahua" has been hailed as Best Feature Film.
The adventure comedy film also nailed a Best Supporting Actor prize for the actor who plays Sam Cortez, Manolo Cardona. Though grabbing two kudos at the awards, "Chihuahua" failed to secure the Best Actor prize despite the fact that two of its leading stars, George Lopez and Andy Garcia, were nominated for the category. The prize went to Luis Guzman of "Maldeamores".
'Ugly Betty' Star Ana Ortiz Gives Birth
June 29, 2009 09:06:49Ana Ortiz, who portrays the role of Hilda Suarez in ABC's series "Ugly Betty", has given birth to a baby girl in New York City on Saturday, June 27. The bundle of joy, named Paloma Louise Lebenzon, was born at 4:25 P.M. and weighed 7 lbs., 10 oz. The infant is Ana's first child with her musician husband Noah Lebenzon.
Confirming the baby's birth is Ana's representative, who tells People exclusively that the actress "is elated and completely glowing" with the new addition into her family. The representative adds, "She is surrounded by her friends and family and so happy to be a mom. She is just really enjoying the moment. The baby is absolutely beautiful."
Angie Harmon and Jill Scott Stripped Off for Allure's Annual Naked Spread

Gabrielle Union, Zoe McLellan, and Ana Ortiz are the other celebs who appear naked in the publication's annual naked spread.
Claimed herself as very "modest," Harmon did admit she had more problems disrobing than her fellow celebrities. "The hardest part was when the robe came off and I was like, 'And now I'm ... naked.' You wonder if they can see your Caesarian scar," the actress revealed. She, however, felt comfortable at last, saying "I realized, I'm here to make a beautiful picture."

"Ugly Betty" adding more awards into its collection as the TV dramedy won top honors at the 22nd annual Imagen Awards, held Saturday July 28th at the sold out Walt Disney Concert Hall.
A Golden Globe- and Peabody Award-winning series, ABC's "Ugly Betty" was named Best Prime-time Series while won its stars America Ferrera the Best Actress award; and Ana Ortiz the Best Supporting Actress award. Ferrera, moreover, also brought home the Creative Achievement award.

"Ugly Betty" was not that ugly at this year American Latino Media Arts (ALMA) Awards at the Pasadena Civic Auditorium, California Friday June 1st. The American television dramedy series won four out of the seventh categories it was nominated for.
The hit TV series earned the awards for the categories of Outstanding Television Series, Mini-series, or TV Movie; Outstanding Actress Television Series, Mini-series, or TV Movie for its star America Ferrera who plays the role of Betty Suarez; Outstanding Supporting Actress Television Series, Mini-series, or TV Movie for Ana Ortiz for portraying Hilda Suarez; and Outstanding Writing Television Series, Mini-series, or TV Movie for Silvio Horta.
