Reagan comes home to find Chris at his wit's end. Amy's thrown sweet potatoes all over his shirt, and he's convinced she wants to torture him.

After seeing Chris' stress level skyrocketing, Reagan insists on getting a sitter so he can have some time off. Although Chris wants some time off, he's very picky about who he'll let watch Amy. Meanwhile, at The Ava Show, Ava presents a guest with a brand new car. But when the curtains part, there is no car - only Nancy, Ava's most inept employee. Later, Reagan promises Ava that she'll fire Nancy for being so incompetent. Ava's dubious, claiming Reagan's lost her edge since she became a mother.

Reagan calls Nancy into her office in order to fire her. But when Reagan learns that Nancy is a well-intentioned, struggling single mother, Reagan gives her another chance. That's right; Reagan defies Ava's orders. Meanwhile, back on the home front, Chris and Reagan begin babysitter interviews. All goes according to plan until they interview Jessie, a gorgeous babysitter. Chris fumbles over his words, visibly nervous around the gorgeous applicant. Thankfully, Reagan's more composed and offers Jessie the gig.

Chris notices that Jessie, the hot babysitter, is listening to the Grateful Dead. Convinced she's a drug addict, he looks through her purse, searching for drugs. When she catches him, he doesn't even make an excuse. Back at The Ava Show, Reagan tries to tutor Nancy on the phones. Sadly, it's not working out so well, as Nancy mixes up callers and just generally makes a fool of herself. Later, Chris stops by with Amy. Chris tells Reagan he fired Jessie. Annoyed, Reagan tells Chris he needs to go play some hockey to release some of his pent up stress.

When Nancy continues to flub everything at her job, Ava tasks Missy with finding a replacement for Nancy. When Reagan finds out she's been overruled, she storms into Ava's office. Ava and Reagan debate who has the power to fire and hire at The Ava Show, and soon they are both threatening to fire each other. Emboldened by a competitive hockey game, Chris enters and calms the warring friends. Ava says that since Reagan became a mother she's been too lax, especially with regard to Nancy, the worst employee ever. Reagan admits she was wrong about Nancy and agrees to fire her.

Chris returns home to find Nancy is the new babysitter. Surprisingly, this is a job she can actually pull off. Later, Chris enjoys yelling at the ref and giving great baby advice by turns.
