The girls wheel their helpless friend Hanna back into her home, where she'll be on bed rest for a few more days before returning to school. There, Hanna quickly discovers the wads of cash that Ashley's been hiding from her mini-heist, which her mother plays off as a "loan."
Elsewhere, Emily convinces her parents to have Maya over for dinner, and get to meet the girl who's won her heart in the hopes of melting Pam's. And Spencer's relationship with Alex is going well...until "A" sneakily submits Alex for a tennis summit in Sweden, causing a rift between the two. Meanwhile, back at school, Noel begins to use his knowledge of Ezra's clandestine relationship with Aria as a bargaining method for better grades.
Toby is released from jail due to insufficient evidence that he in fact killed Alison, but with one caveat: an ankle monitor, keeping him all too close to stepsister Jenna, who confesses that she turned him into the cops, not the girls.
Mona, feeling guilty for dumping Hanna the night she was hit, decides to throw her a surprise, welcome home party. Unfortunately, Hanna is clueless about the party and it doesn't turn out well. Not only does Noel show up... but Lucas drinks too much. He's still upset from Hanna refusing to be more than friends and makes a big scene. By the end of the party, Ashley's hidden loot is stolen with a note from "A" left behind. If Hanna wants her momma's money back, she's gonna have to earn it.
At the end of the episode, Spencer discovers a Hilton Head tag on Ian's luggage, clueing her in to the fateful summer before Ali disappeared where she spent time in the same location, at the same time.
