AceShowbiz - Soul legend Gladys Knight has been chosen to perform on the fabled Apollo Theater's first float at the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade. The "Midnight Train to Georgia" singer, 75, who was inducted into the Apollo's Hall of Fame in 2006, will sing festive tunes during the three-mile, three-hour New York parade on Thursday, November 25.
Knight says, "I was so excited when I got that call... The Apollo was more more than just a theater; they were mentors for us. They taught us things. I love the Apollo."
2010 Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade will also see performances by Kanye West, Jessica Simpson, India.Arie, Big Time Rush, Miranda Cosgrove and Kylie Minogue.
