AceShowbiz - Paris Hilton's controversial beer advert is back on TV in Brazil - after producers edited out the socialite's steamy scene. The promo sparked a series of complaints when it aired in the country in February, with critics claiming shots of Hilton dressed in a black robe and rubbing a can of Devassa beer on herself showed a "lack of respect" for women.

Producers behind the promo have now removed the controversial scenes and edited the ad to only show Hilton's face for several seconds. The head of the advertising agency responsible for the campaign, Augusto Cruz, tells Brazilian newspaper O Estado de Sao Paulo, "(There is) a good dose of humor (in the new advert). But I'm also sure there was nothing wrong with the previous one."

Before producers edited Paris Hilton's controversial beer ad, advertisers agreed to pull the commercial due to complaints about its sexist undertones. On March 2, a spokesperson for Devassa brewer Schincario released a statement which confirmed the temporary removal but still defended the ad, "The company believes that the advertisement starring the model Paris Hilton doesn't offend in any sense, any rule or orientation."
