Euphoria Season 3 is finally here! Premiering April 12, 2026 on HBO, new episodes drop weekly after a long delay.

AceShowbiz - Euphoria has officially returned with its highly anticipated third season. After a lengthy delay, Season 3 premiered on April 12, 2026, marking the first new episodes since early 2022. This gap was caused by several production interruptions, including the tragic passing of cast member Angus Cloud in July 2023 at the age of 25.
The new episodes are now being released weekly on HBO, giving fans a chance to dive back into the intense, raw world of the show after years of waiting. Despite the hiatus, Euphoria remained one of HBO’s most talked-about series, with the network reaffirming its commitment to the show early on. Executives have continued to support creator Sam Levinson and the cast throughout the production challenges.
Francesca Orsi, HBO’s Executive Vice President of Programming, praised the team’s work on Season 2 and expressed excitement for the future. She said, "Sam [Levinson], Zendaya, and the entire cast and crew of Euphoria have taken season 2 to extraordinary heights, challenging narrative convention and form, while maintaining its heart." Orsi added that HBO was honored to collaborate with this talented group and looked forward to continuing the journey into Season 3.
The cast has also teased what to expect from the new season. In October 2025, Sydney Sweeney gave fans a playful hint during an interview with E! News, saying, "Dildos. Hold onto those dildos. It’s Cassie, what do you expect?" This cryptic comment suggests some of the show's signature boldness and boundary-pushing storytelling will continue.
Euphoria Season 3 Release Date and Schedule
The third season of Euphoria debuted on HBO on April 12, 2026, with episodes airing weekly every Sunday. The extended production delay was largely due to the 2023 SAG-AFTRA strike, which put many projects on hold.
When asked about a 2024 release during the show’s For Your Consideration event in April 2022, Zendaya responded with uncertainty, acknowledging that executives might know more but she was busy at the time. In February 2023, Vogue shared that Season 3 was not scheduled to begin shooting until the latter half of 2023, and cast member Maude Apatow admitted in an interview that she was still in the dark about Season 3’s scripts or production timeline.
Similarly, Nika King, who plays Leslie Bennet, Rue’s mother, shared a humorous TikTok video in 2023 expressing her confusion about the show’s return. She joked about not knowing when Season 3 would arrive and pleaded humorously for Zendaya to come back from Paris Fashion Week so they could start filming.
Shortly after, HBO released a statement confirming the production delays but reaffirmed their commitment to an exceptional third season. The network noted that in the meantime, the in-demand cast was free to pursue other projects until filming resumed.
Season 3 Trailer and Cast Details
Zendaya returns as Rue, reportedly having renegotiated her contract to earn $1 million per episode for Season 2, a significant increase reflecting her value to the series. Other returning cast members include Hunter Schafer (Jules), Maude Apatow (Lexi), Sydney Sweeney (Cassie), Jacob Elordi (Nate), Alexa Demie (Maddy), Storm Reid (Gia), Nika King (Leslie), and Colman Domingo (Ali).
The new season also introduces several new faces such as Trisha Paytas, Bella Podaras, Bill Bodner, Cailyn Rice, Colleen Camp, Danielle Deadwyler, Eli Roth, Gideon Adlon, Hemky Madera, Homer Gere, Jack Topalian, Jessica Blair Herman, Kwame Patterson, Madison Thompson, Matthew Willig, Natasha Lyonne, Rebecca Pidgeon, and Sam Trammell.
Notably, Barbie Ferreira, who portrayed Kat Hernandez for the first two seasons, confirmed her departure from the show in August 2022 through her Instagram Stories. She expressed a heartfelt goodbye to her character, thanking fans for their support and reflecting on the meaningful journey she had with Kat.
There was speculation about Zendaya’s future on the show, including rumors that her character Rue might be killed off. However, HBO’s Chief Content Officer Casey Bloys dispelled those rumors, stating it was hard to imagine the show without Zendaya, and confirmed she would be part of Season 3. The decision ultimately rests with Zendaya and Sam Levinson.
Dominic Fike, who joined in Season 2 as Elliot, reassured fans on The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon that he would appear again in Season 3. The musician and actor revealed that creator Sam Levinson offered him flexibility on when or if he would leave the show, leaving the door open for his character’s future.
Season 2 ended ambiguously with the apparent death of Ashtray during a police shootout. Actor Javon “Wanna” Walton expressed hope that Ashtray might still be alive, pointing out the lack of blood and an unclear fall. However, months later Javon seemed to accept that the character did not survive the raid.
The cast’s busy schedules contributed to the delayed start of Season 3 filming.
