AceShowbiz - Taylor Frankie Paul, known for her role on The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives and a recent contestant set to appear on The Bachelorette, revealed late on Easter Sunday that she intends to leave the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, commonly referred to as the Mormon church.
In a heartfelt Instagram post, Taylor Frankie Paul shared, "Born and raised Mormon (LDS) and I'll always have love and respect towards it." She added that although she will continue attending church activities with her family on occasion, "it's time to detach myself from it."
Despite stepping away from the church, Paul emphasized that she still identifies as a Christian. She also expressed gratitude for the compassion and understanding she has found among people who may be uncertain about their beliefs or do not follow any faith.
Earlier the same day, Paul disclosed the emotional toll she has experienced in recent weeks, describing the last 40 days as feeling like "hell on earth." This statement referred to the controversy surrounding the abrupt cancellation of her season of The Bachelorette after a video surfaced showing her throwing a stool at her ex-boyfriend, Dakota Mortensen.
Following the video's release to TMZ, Mortensen filed a protective order against Paul. Both parties are currently under investigation for domestic abuse related to incidents that occurred on February 23 and 24.
While not all participants in The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives are active members of the LDS church, all have had some involvement with it at various points in their lives. The future of Paul's involvement in the upcoming fifth season of the show remains uncertain as production is still on hold.
