AceShowbiz - Colombian artist Juanes has released his eagerly awaited 12th studio album, JuanesTeban. This new record presents a vibrant fusion of cumbia rhythms and Juanes' signature rock style across 16 tracks, highlighting the dual nature of his musical expression. It follows his 2023 Grammy-winning album Vida Cotidiana, marking a fresh chapter in his evolving sound.
In a press statement, Juanes expressed, "I have finally returned to a place of light and joy." He explained that the album was inspired by a desire to reconnect with the dance and cumbia traditions rooted in Latin American folklore, emphasizing the celebratory spirit of the region.
Juanes also noted the album’s exploration of his multifaceted personality, stating, "This record is different from the others because I finally got to explore the many facets of my personality... joyful, enthusiastic, melancholy." This introspective approach is reflected in the diverse moods and tones throughout the collection.
The production of JuanesTeban was a collaboration between Juanes and producer Nico Cotton. The album features notable collaborations with a range of Latin music artists, including Colombian band Bomba Estéreo, Chilean singer Mon Laferte, Venezuelan group Rawayana, Argentinian artist Conociendo Rusia, and Mexican vocalist Vivir Quintana. This lineup underscores Juanes’s commitment to a global and dynamic sound.
To mark the release, Juanes shared a compelling visualizer for the track "Timelapse De Sol," his collaboration with Rawayana. Directed by Agustín Puente, the video showcases stunning landscapes of Costa Rica and complements the album’s themes of light and celebration.
