AceShowbiz - Stray Kids member Seungmin will adopt a cautious approach for upcoming activities after sustaining an ankle injury, his agency confirmed.
On Thursday, March 12, JYP Entertainment shared an update via X revealing that Seungmin recently sought medical attention due to recurring discomfort around his foot. After thorough examination, he was diagnosed with a suspected stress fracture in his left ankle.
The label emphasized that while the injury does not hinder his ability to walk or perform light daily tasks, medical experts strongly recommend ample rest for proper healing. Consequently, Seungmin will avoid any strenuous physical activities and prioritize recovery.
This development impacts Seungmin’s participation in Stray Kids’ upcoming fan event, "STAY in Our Little House," scheduled for March 28-29 and April 4-5 at Inspire Arena in Incheon, South Korea. JYP Entertainment stated that his performances during these dates will be limited to accommodate his health condition.
Expressing regret for the change, the agency apologized to STAY, the group’s dedicated fanbase, who had anticipated Seungmin’s full presence at the events. They assured fans that the artist’s well-being remains their top priority and committed to providing the best care throughout his recovery process.
Besides the fan meetings, Stray Kids continues to prepare for major appearances later this year. The group, including members Bang Chan, Lee Know, Changbin, Hyunjin, Han, Felix, Seungmin, and I.N., is set to headline the 2026 Governor's Ball in New York City alongside artists like Lorde and A$AP Rocky. Additionally, they are announced as headliners for Rock in Rio this September.
Stray Kids most recently released the EP Do It in November, which debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 chart—marking their eighth album to top the ranking.
Below is the official statement from JYP Entertainment regarding Seungmin’s condition and schedule:
"Seungmin recently visited the hospital again due to recurring discomfort around his foot area, and after detailed examination, he was diagnosed with a suspected stress fracture in his left ankle. Although this does not affect him walking or carrying out light daily activities, medical specialists have advised that sufficient rest is necessary for a swift recovery. Accordingly, Seungmin will refrain from strenuous physical activities and focus on resting."
"We sincerely apologize to STAY who were looking forward to Seungmin's performance for this sudden news. We will prioritize our artist's health and do our utmost to support his recovery and provide the best possible care."
This update underscores the agency’s commitment to balancing artist health with fan expectations as Stray Kids continues their extensive 2026 schedule.
