AceShowbiz - Jax Taylor and Brittany Cartwright have finalized a custody and support arrangement concerning their 4-year-old son, Cruz, which notably includes restrictions on alcohol and drug use while caring for their child.
According to court documents obtained by TMZ, neither Jax Taylor nor Brittany Cartwright will pay child support. Instead, they are responsible for expenses related to Cruz during the periods he is in their custody. The custody schedule gives Jax time with Cruz every other weekend and on Wednesday evenings, while Brittany will have more frequent access overall.
The agreement establishes joint legal custody, ensuring both parents share decision-making responsibilities regarding Cruz’s health, education, and welfare. However, if they cannot agree on health matters, Brittany retains the final say.
The arrangement also includes a structured holiday schedule and sets a six-month waiting period before Cruz can meet any new significant others of either parent. Both parties consented to abstain from alcohol, marijuana, and all illegal substances while Cruz is under their care, emphasizing child safety.
In keeping with their goal for an amicable co-parenting relationship, Jax Taylor and Brittany Cartwright have agreed to make good faith efforts to celebrate Cruz’s birthdays together and to avoid speaking negatively about each other in front of their son.
Brittany and Jax married in 2019 after dating on and off for four years but separated in 2024. The divorce was filed by Brittany while Jax was undergoing treatment for severe mental health issues, including bipolar disorder and PTSD. Jax Taylor has publicly stated that their split was necessary due to the toxic nature of their relationship.
Since the separation, Brittany Cartwright briefly dated Brandon Hanson but has primarily focused on herself, including undergoing a “mommy makeover” procedure last fall. Both parents appear intent on prioritizing Cruz’s well-being as they navigate co-parenting post-divorce.
