AceShowbiz - Dolly Parton has offered a much-anticipated update on her health after postponing her Las Vegas shows last fall due to medical concerns. Making her first major public appearance in months, Dolly Parton reassured fans that she is recovering well.
During the opening of the season at Dollywood, her Tennessee-based amusement park, Dolly Parton spoke about her health. According to footage from local station WVLT 8, she said she is "taking good care" of herself and feeling positive despite recent challenges.
Dolly shared that she felt "worn down and worn out" after the passing of her husband, Carl Dean, who died in March 2025 at the age of 82 after 58 years of marriage. She emphasized the importance of rebuilding herself spiritually, emotionally, and physically, but stressed that her health issues have not slowed her down.
Earlier, Dolly Parton had to postpone her Las Vegas concerts due to undisclosed medical reasons, although she had revealed weeks prior that she was dealing with kidney stones. She also missed the International Association of Amusement Parks and Attractions (IAAPA) Hall of Fame ceremony in November 2025, an event tied to Dollywood.
The situation caused concern among fans, especially after her sister, Freida, mentioned being "up all night praying" for her. However, Freida later clarified that she did not intend to alarm anyone and explained that Dolly had simply been "a little under the weather," prompting her to request prayers based on her faith in their power.
Despite these health challenges, Dolly Parton appears to be recovering and is preparing to resume her activities. Her message remains optimistic.
