This event will feature the actors appearing together at AwesomeCon.

In a series of videos shared on Instagram, Fillion is seen knocking on doors and telling castmates variations of "it's time." The actors featured include Gina Torres (Zoë Washburne), Morena Baccarin (Inara Serra), Sean Maher (Simon Tam), Summer Glau (River Tam), Jewel Staite (Kaylee Frye), and Adam Baldwin (Jayne Cobb). The only missing actor from the initial series was Alan Tudyk, who portrayed Hoban "Wash" Washburne. The late Ron Glass, who played Derrial Book, passed away in 2016 and is not part of this reunion.

In the most recent Instagram reel, Fillion confirms that Tudyk will join the reunion, which has excited fans given the close friendship between the two actors, including their collaboration on the Once We Were Spacemen podcast. Although Tudyk's character died in the movie Serenity, his involvement raises curiosity about how the revival or continuation will handle his return.

The prospect of a new Firefly project has long been a dream for fans. Despite the cancellation after just one season, the 2005 film Serenity was created to provide some closure. Although the movie received positive reviews, it only earned around $40 million at the box office against a similar production budget, dampening hopes for immediate continuations.

Given the time elapsed, expectations should be tempered. The current tease may indicate a special reunion event, possibly a 25th anniversary celebration, a table read, or a fan-oriented project such as a game or branded content. The confirmation of Tudyk's participation adds complexity to the story, considering his character's death in Serenity.
