AceShowbiz - The soundtrack for the film Wuthering Heights, created by Charli XCX, has debuted at No. 1 on Billboard's Soundtracks chart dated February 28. This album serves as the companion piece to the theatrical release of the movie, which stars Margot Robbie and Jacob Elordi, and was released in U.S. theaters on February 13. The film is directed by Emerald Fennell.
Charli XCX’s soundtrack has made a significant impact across multiple Billboard charts. It entered the top 10 on six different album rankings: No. 1 on Soundtracks, No. 2 on Vinyl Albums, No. 2 on Indie Store Album Sales, No. 3 on Top Album Sales, No. 3 on Top Current Album Sales, and No. 8 on the Billboard 200. On the Billboard 200, this marks Charli XCX’s third top 10 album, following BRAT which reached No. 3 in 2024 and CRASH which peaked at No. 7 in 2022.
The artist became involved with the project after receiving a call from Emerald Fennell around Christmas 2024. In a press release, Charli XCX shared, "I read the script and immediately felt inspired so Finn Keane and I began working on not just one but many songs that we felt connected to the world she was creating." She added that after immersing herself deeply in her previous album BRAT, she was eager to explore something completely new and different.
Alongside the album’s chart success, several tracks from the soundtrack have also made appearances on various Billboard song charts. The song "House," featuring John Cale, debuted at No. 30 on Hot Rock & Alternative Songs and No. 19 on Hot Alternative Songs. "Dying for You" entered at No. 9 on Hot Dance/Pop Songs and No. 13 on Dance Streaming Songs.
Other tracks from the album also earned chart positions: "Chains of Love" debuted at No. 87 on the Billboard Hot 100, No. 109 on the Billboard Global 200, and No. 158 on the Global Excluding U.S. chart. Meanwhile, "Always Everywhere" appeared on the Billboard Global 200 at No. 191.
This strong performance highlights the crossover appeal of Charli XCX’s work on the Wuthering Heights soundtrack, reinforcing her continued presence in the music industry’s upper echelons.
