AceShowbiz - "Tiger King" star Joe Exotic, whose real name is Joseph Maldonado-Passage, has announced his wedding to fellow prison inmate Jorge Marquez. The 62-year-old reality TV star shared the news via a heartfelt post on X, formerly known as Twitter, on Tuesday, April 22.

"Never been more proud of someone," Maldonado-Passage captioned a photo of himself and Marquez. "Meet my husband, Jorge Flores Maldonado."

This wedding came months after Maldonado-Passage hinted in October 2024 at his plan to marry Marquez following their engagement in prison. "He is so amazing and is from Mexico," Maldonado-Passage wrote on X at the time.

"Now, the quest of getting married in prison and getting him asylum or we [will] be leaving America when we both get out," he continued. "Either way, I wish I would have met him long ago."

Maldonado-Passage currently serves a 21-year prison sentence. His conviction stems from a 2019 case involving a murder-for-hire plot against his animal rights activist rival, Carole Baskin. Initially sentenced to 22 years, his term was reduced in January 2022.

Maldonado-Passage was previously married to Travis Maldonado from 2015 until 2017 when Travis tragically passed away in an accidental shooting. He then married Dillon Passage two months later, though that marriage ended in 2021.

The unconventional wedding inside prison walls has led Maldonado-Passage to express hopes for his future with Marquez. Maldonado-Passage previously credited Marquez for making significant impact on his life.

"He has gotten me through so much fighting cancer under these conditions," he wrote before adding a hopeful plea to former President Donald Trump, "All I pray to God for is Trump [to] allow me to enjoy a little life outside with him before it's too late. I love you, Jorge. You are my life. @realdonaldtrump."

Whether or not he and Marquez will get the opportunity to build a life outside of prison remains uncertain, but for now, their love story is a testament to finding hope in the most unexpected places.
