AceShowbiz - Joe Exotic, the former zookeeper and star of the popular documentary series "Tiger King: Murder, Mayhem and Madness", has announced his engagement to fellow inmate Jorge Marquez through social media. The 61-year-old Maldonado-Passage, who is incarcerated at a Texas federal prison, shared the news on his X page, writing, "Meet Jorge Marquez. He is 33. He is so amazing and is from Mexico."
Maldonado-Passage expressed his desire to marry Marquez in prison and work towards obtaining asylum for him. He also hinted at the possibility of leaving the United States upon their release.
Previously, Maldonado-Passage was married to three men, Travis Maldonado, John Finlay and Dillon Passage. Travis Maldonado died from an accidental self-inflicted gunshot wound in 2017, while Maldonado-Passage separated from Dillon Passage in 2021.
Maldonado-Passage was convicted in 2019 of plotting to kill animal sanctuary owner Carole Baskin, who had criticized his treatment of tigers at his Greater Wynnewood Exotic Animal Park in Oklahoma. He maintains his innocence and claims to have been framed.
His projected release date is September 2, 2029. However, Exotic is appealing his conviction in hopes of overturning it or receiving a presidential pardon. He has also expressed his intention to leave the animal industry behind if he is released.
