AceShowbiz - Kyle Richards recently sat down with her children to have an emotional conversation about her sexuality due to persistent online speculation revolving around her close friendship with country singer Morgan Wade.
During the final segment of "The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills" reunion, Kyle, 56, shared with touching honesty, "It had gotten to that point where it was something that I needed to address with my daughters. I wasn't quite sure myself, to be honest. That's not something you wake up one day and go, 'Oh.' It was a strange feeling."
The emotional impact was visible as Kyle expressed a deep concern for her family's perception. She described the conversation as "very uncomfortable" but was ultimately "really proud" of her four daughters - Farrah, 36, Alexia, 28, Sophia, 25, and Portia, 17 - and the way they reacted. Through tears, she revealed, "I wanted them to always be proud of me and I didn't want to embarrass them."
"They were, all of them, were very supportive," Kyle recounted. "Portia stood up and she came over and she put her arms around me, and she said, 'I love you and there's nothing you could say that would make us not love you.' "
This heartfelt support from her daughters mirrors host Andy Cohen's own experience, who noted, "That's what my dad said to me when I came out to him, actually."
Kyle made it clear that her discussion with her daughters was about her uncertainties rather than a definitive statement about her sexuality. "I didn't say … I'm saying I have questions," she clarified.
Following the conversation, Kyle said she felt "the freedom" to pursue what makes her happy.
Speculations initially began after her split from husband Mauricio Umansky and her burgeoning friendship with Morgan Wade. Kyle's appearance as a love interest in Morgan's "Fall in Love with Me" music video added fuel to the rumors although both Kyle and Morgan have maintained that their relationship is purely platonic.
Reflecting on the waves of public interest, Kyle admitted, "When the chatter first started happening, before the music video and all that, that would never have crossed my mind. Anything like that, ever in my life. I have a very specific type."
However, she did confess to wondering if there was "a crush" and whether she was overlooking something significant.
