AceShowbiz - Kelly Clarkson remembered one embarrassing snafu during a performance. The "Breakaway" singer shared a major wardrobe malfunction story while chatting with Nick Jonas and his Broadway co-star, Adrienne Warren, on her talk show, "The Kelly Clarkson Show".
Clarkson, 42, didn't hesitate to address Jonas, 32, directly about his own mishap, saying, "something happened to your pants in rehearsal." Jonas recounted that the day his pants split, it led to their "biggest ticket spike day."
He explained, "I posted this thing on Instagram [in March] where I just talked about, basically we're in rehearsals, I'm in front of everybody and I jump up on this platform and my pants split." With a laugh, he added, "Look, whatever sells tickets."
This prompted Clarkson to share her own story. "I had something happen on tour once where my skirt, the clip broke and it dropped, and I dropped so fast," the "Since U Been Gone" singer confessed. "Look, long story short, I was commando. And I was like, it was a long skirt, and something happened to where it was like, 'Oh, okay.' "
Clarkson continued, "And I was like, the one night I don't have... And I dropped to the floor like so fast. Picked it up, somebody had to run out," noting that this incident occurred during a performance. Despite the mishap, Clarkson powered through, even stepping on glass but kept singing, "It happens though, and you just keep swimming."
In a heartfelt moment, Clarkson also reflected on her rise to fame, sharing on Kylie Kelce's "Not Gonna Lie" podcast how winning American Idol in 2002 was not as glamorous as it seemed.
"After I won Idol, people were like, 'Oh, she's a millionaire,' " Clarkson remarked. "No. I wasn't. Like, they say 'million dollar' contract. No, I didn't. They said I'd get a car. No, I didn't. Like, I didn't get any of that."
She recalled, "We were playing, like, festivals in the middle of cow s*** plugging in all our gear. You know what I'm saying?" and emphasized that at 42, the hustle continues.
