This fresh perspective on Superman introduced audiences to an extended sneak peek where David Corenswet's Man of Steel finds himself thoroughly distressed and bloodied in a frozen tundra.

However, this grim scenario takes a hopeful turn with the arrival of Krypto, Superman's faithful dog. The pup of steel skids through the snowy landscape, grabs Superman by the cape, and drags him to the Fortress of Solitude. There, a band of caped, quippy robots greet them, ready to administer a much-needed boost with sunbeams.

The trailer, originally debuted back in December, delivers more than just action scenes. It provides glimpses of Lex Luthor, played by Nicholas Hoult, and an enchanting gravity-defying kiss between Superman and Rachel Brosnahan's Lois Lane.

Meanwhile, the action-packed segments offer a look at Hawkgirl (Isabela Merced), Mister Terrific (Edi Gathegi), Metamorpho (Anthony Carrigan), and Guy Gardner (Nathan Fillion).

James Gunn, the director, said at a press junket earlier this year that the movie starts right in the heart of the action.

His inspiration for Krypto came from a very personal place. Recalling a moment with his dog, Ozu, Gunn said at CinemaCon, "I thought, 'Oh, my God, what if this dog had superpowers? I'd be f**ked.' And I said, 'Now I know what I'm going to do with Superman.' " This humorous take on his own life exemplifies the unique flavor he brings to the DC Universe.

The film, set to hit theaters on July 11, promises to be an exciting amalgamation of emotion, action, and beloved characters, both old and new.
