AceShowbiz - Miley Cyrus treated fans to a new single "End of the World," serving as a teaser for her much-anticipated visual album "Something Beautiful," set to drop on May 30.
The single comes paired with a sultry music video that features Miley dancing hazily in front of a band and writhing on the ground in a shimmering green sequined dress, creating an atmosphere that matches the song's haunting lyrics.
Miley sings to her lover, "Let's pretend it's not the end of the world," and "show me how you'd hold me if tomorrow wasn't coming for sure," effectively capturing the theme of living in the moment.
The album, executive produced by Miley and Shawn Everett - known for his work with Alabama Shakes and Kacey Musgraves - is slated to include 13 original tracks. Inspired by Pink Floyd's iconic album "The Wall," Miley aims to create something similarly grand but with a modern twist.
"My idea was making 'The Wall,' but with a better wardrobe and more glamorous and filled with pop culture," she told Harper's Bazaar in November. She describes the album as "hypnotizing and glamorous," a concept album designed to offer a sort of musical remedy for society's ailments.
Shortly after announcing "Something Beautiful," Miley released the first two songs from the album: the spoken-word "Prelude" and the rock-meets-soul title track "Something Beautiful." The latter was accompanied by a visually stunning music video directed by Miley herself, Jacob Bixenman, and Brendan Walter, with cinematography by BenoƮt Debie.
The visual element doesn't end there; the album will be accompanied by a film set for release in June. Produced by Miley, XYZ Films, and Panos Cosmatos in collaboration with Sony Music Vision, Columbia Records, and Live Nation, the film is directed by Miley, Bixenman, and Walter.
As she continues to surprise and captivate audiences, Miley innovative approach to music and storytelling ensures that "Something Beautiful" will be an album worth waiting for. Until then, fans can immerse themselves in the video for "End of the World" and anticipate what's to come.
