AceShowbiz - There have been speculations about the status of Glen Powell and Sydney Sweeney's relationship especially amid her alleged split from fiance, Jonathan Davino. This rumors were fuelled by her presence at his sister's wedding.

Glen Powell's mother, Cyndy Powell, has since spoken out, firmly dismissing any romantic involvement between the two. "They're definitely not together," she told the Daily Mail.

Cyndy described the dating rumors as "silly." She added, "[There is] nothing going on behind closed doors," calling Sydney a "really close friend" of Glen's sister Leslie who got married over the weekend.

Cyndy revealed the "Euphoria" actress had RSVP'd for the event "a long time ago" and brought her best friend as her plus-one.

Glen Powell and Sydney Sweeney were spotted at a rehearsal dinner in Dallas, Texas. At the wedding the following day, Sydney seemingly served as one of the bridesmaids while Glen was among the groomsmen. She donned a light-blue dress and he was in a blue suit.

The pair first sparked romance rumors while working on 2023 romcom "Anyone but You". Their undeniable chemistry became a talking point in 2023, but both have consistently denied these romance rumors although they admitted to leveraging the speculation to promote their film.

"He's the kindest person and he is so others-oriented. He loves his family, he loves his friends. And Sydney is a friend," Cyndy said of her famous son, adding that the pair's love lives are none of her business.

While she hopes her son ends up with "somebody that loves him unconditionally," she stated that Glen is currently too busy to focus on a serious relationship. The "Top Gun: Maverick" star has not dated anyone publicly since his April 2023 split from Gigi Paris, his girlfriend of over three years.

Sweeney, on her part, called off her wedding with Jonathan Davino earlier this year but their relationship reportedly had been rocky for a long time largely due to her career-focused lifestyle. "She's not ready to settle down," a source told People, adding that their split was because Sweeney wanted to concentrate on her projects.

Despite the breakup, the source confirmed that Sweeney is "exactly where she wants to be," prioritizing her career over personal commitments at this time.

Although the romance between Sydney Sweeney and Glen Powell is nothing more than a figment of the rumor mill, it's worth noting that the pair share a strong friendship and mutual admiration.

Gleam Powell's mom summed it up well, saying, "They've known each other for so long and they've both been single and together and with other people. They could have made anything happen that they wanted to at any point."

As for how the Powell family feels about Sweeney, Cyndy's words speak volumes, "We love Sydney. We've considered her just a really, really good friend. We all were together so much, and we haven't seen her in a long time. She's really a friend, and we all enjoy her."
