Hayley Atwell, beloved by fans for her role as Peggy Carter in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, offered a candid insight into her experience in one of the superhero movies.

AceShowbiz - Hayley Atwell got candid about her experience in the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU). Despite the fanfare surrounding her role, the actress was not entirely happy with the way her character was handled.

Atwell joined the franchise early on as Peggy Carter in "Captain America: The First Avenger" and reprised her role in multiple Marvel movies, which led to her own show "Agent Carter" before eventually marking her exit in "Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness."

During a recent interview on the podcast "Reign with Josh Smith," Atwell opened up about feeling underwhelmed by the way her character was defeated.

"I was doing a cameo in Doctor Strange, as Captain Carter, and it's like, blink and you'll miss me," she remarked. "She has that brilliant line: 'I could do this all day,' then she's frisbee'd to death with her own shield, and I'm like, 'she's so undermined.' "

Atwell was frustrated that the death of her character was played off as a joke. Attempting to suggest changes, she faced resistance and was rudely brushed off by those in higher positions.

She recounted an exchange with a high-ranking individual, "In this particular instance, he went, 'Oh, sure, Hayley, I'll just tell our Oscar-winning editor that you have some choices you'd like to make. And, yeah, don't you worry about that. I'll make sure he gets a memo.' "

According to Atwell, the person then tried to laugh it off with a joke " 'Oh, I'm just kidding. I'm just bullying you. Don't worry.' I went, 'You can't bully me. I've got a jetpack on."

Hayley Atwell has since returned as the voice of Peggy Carter in new series "What If…?", clearly showing that MCU is far from finished with her character.
