AceShowbiz - Young music fans will need to wait a bit longer to see their idol, Alessia Cara, live in the U.S. The 28-year-old Grammy winner has announced the postponement of the American leg of her highly anticipated "Love & Hyperbole" tour.
The singer took to social media on March 28 to share some disappointing news. The tour was originally scheduled to run from April 6 to April 26.
"It's breaking my heart to say this, but I unfortunately have to postpone the US leg of the Love & Hyperbole tour," Cara wrote on Instagram. "Not to be vague or cliché, but there are truly so many factors that lead to this (reluctant) decision, all of which were genuinely and completely out of my control."
She added, "I cried about it then patched it up with ice cream. I'm so so so sorry, my US friends. I'll make it up to you, I promise!!!! thank you. I love you."
Cara explained in her heartfelt message that "touring, especially today, is challenging and involves so many little moving parts. Bottom line is we couldn't make it all work on time."
Despite the postponement, she assured fans that all tickets would be honored at the new dates, yet to be announced. "I love you so much. I can't apologize enough and I'll make it up to you. See you soon," she concluded.
While Cara's U.S. fans are left waiting, the rest of her tour across Asia, Australia, Canada, and Europe will proceed as planned from April 30 to June 19.
Cara's latest album, "Love & Hyperbole," was released on Valentine's Day 2025, almost four years after her previous album "In the Meantime." The record features singles like "Dead Man," "Slow Motion," and "Obvious."
Speaking about her new work, Cara told People, "I really do feel like over the last three years I learned to open up my heart to love and trust in other people. But it ultimately came back to trust in myself - and not so much trusting that everything's going to work out all the time, but rather trusting that you will be okay if and when it doesn't."
She added, "Not everything works out, it's inevitable that things don't go your way or you might be heartbroken. We're not exempt from feeling pain. So I think it's just that sentiment of 'I'm going to be okay if it doesn't go my way.'"
Despite the setback, Cara's devotion to her fans remains unwavering, and she is determined to make amends when the U.S. tour dates are rescheduled. Stay tuned for updates as Alessia Cara continues to pour her heart and soul into her music and her performances.
