During a reunion on 'The Kardashians', Khloe and Lamar Odom dish on the profound impact their past has had on both their lives following their whirlwind romance and his near-fatal overdose.

AceShowbiz - Khloe Kardashian and Lamar Odom's relationship has been nothing short of tumultuous. Meeting and getting engaged within 30 days, the couple was married in 2009. Their relationship highs were widely televised on "Keeping Up With the Kardashians" and their spin-off show "Khloe & Lamar." Unfortunately, Odom's struggles with addiction led to their separation and eventually, his overdose in 2015.

Years after their split, Khloé, 40, and Lamar, 45, reunited on a recent episode of "The Kardashians" to discuss their past. The meeting was emotionally charged, encompassing Lamar's addiction, their divorce, and the near-fatal overdose that left him comatose for three days. Khloé recalled, "You were in a coma for three days. I was there the second you were there."

Khloé did not leave Lamar's side during his hospitalization despite having filed for divorce. Her dedication cost her dearly as she developed a staph infection from her prolonged stay in the hospital. It was a time filled with immense stress and anxiety. She later reflected, "I got a staph infection because I lived in a hospital."

Staph infections can occur when bacteria enter the body through a cut or sore, causing everything from skin lesions to potentially life-threatening complications. "It's not fun to have, no matter where the infection is," said infectious disease specialist Amesh A. Adalja, M.D.

The reunion wasn't just a walk down memory lane; it was a moment for both to air their grievances, offer apologies and hopefully get a closure. Lamar expressed deep remorse, saying, "I put you through a lot. I love you for trying your hardest with me." Khloé acknowledged the emotional toll of trying to save Lamar from his addiction, admitting she "almost lost" herself in the process.

The reunion also involved Khloé returning some of Lamar's belongings, including his cherished NBA championship rings. It was clear that despite the passage of time and the severity of their past issues, the emotional bonds and memories were still raw and poignant.

As Khloé remarked, "If it wasn't for drugs, I know we would still be married today."

FOllowing their reunion, she called her ex-husband the "right person" that came at the "wrong time."
