
The 52nd annual Annie Awards saw DreamWorks Animation's The Wild Robot sweep nine categories including Best Feature, establishing itself as the frontrunner for the Oscars.

AceShowbiz - The 52nd annual Annie Awards were a night to remember, with DreamWorks Animation's "The Wild Robot" emerging as the dominant force. Directed by Chris Sanders, who picked up an award for Best Direction, this film ended up winning in a whopping nine categories, including Best Feature.
Lupita Nyong'o, although absent from the ceremony, won Best Voice Acting for her role as Roz. "The Wild Robot" impressive haul also included accolades for Best Editorial, FX, Character Animation, Character Design, Production Design, and Music.
Indie pic "Flow" broke "The Wild Robot" clean sweep by winning Best Writing - Feature. It also picked up the award for Best Feature – Independent. This further solidified "Flow" presence in the animation circuit, having already clinched the Golden Globe for best animated motion picture.
Meanwhile, Netflix's "Arcane", based on the popular video game series, showed its might in the TV/Media categories by winning all seven nominations it received. This sweeping victory included Best Direction for TV/Media, Storyboarding, FX, Production Design, Editing, Music, and Character Animation for TV/Media.
The ceremony had its share of dramatic moments when a fire alarm caused a temporary evacuation of the venue. Despite this interruption, the event resumed swiftly, maintaining its celebratory spirit.
