Whoopi Goldberg fires back at conservative critics having issue with Beyonce Knowles' Grammy win, insisting that the 'Cowboy Carter' artist 'earned' the award.

AceShowbiz - Whoopi Goldberg has fiercely defended Beyonce Knowles' Grammy win after a Fox News pundit criticized the singer's victory in the best country album category.
On Fox News' "The Ingraham Angle", Raymond Arroyo called Beyonce's Grammy win a "ridiculous outcome." Arroyo claimed that the singer did not deserve the award and country artists were "not happy."
"I'm gonna put this in some context Laura: Dolly Parton has 10 Grammys. Frank Sinatra had 11 Grammys. Beyonce has 35. How is that possibly commensurate with that talent? I mean, come on," the critic said, mockingly adding that Beyonce only won because "Lady Gaga's cat sitter votes for best reggae and best country albums."
On "The View," Whoopi Goldberg took aim at Arroyo's claims. She pointed out that Grammy voters must be in the music industry, debunking the idea of unqualified individuals voting. Goldberg also highlighted the expansion of Grammy categories over the years, from 28 in 1959 to 94 in the present day.
Goldberg emphasized that Beyoncé had earned her win fairly. She cited an example from the 1959 Grammys, where Frank Sinatra received six nominations but only won for his album cover, not his singing. "You can't do that. She earned it," Goldberg declared.
Goldberg further criticized Arroyo, "You want to hold on to country music like white people didn't also buy her country album. Come on, man! People voted for it. Sometimes you win, sometimes you don't. Same with the Oscars. Sit down! … Music does not have the issues you have. Music is about the people."
With her latest Grammy-winning album "Cowboy Carter", Beyonce became the first Black woman to win Best Country Album. It also grabbed the top honor, Album of the Year, marking the first time she got the title in her long music career that spanned decades.
