AceShowbiz - Keke Palmer wants to ditch her popular moniker for her birth name, Lauren. In a resurfaced interview, she revealed that her stage name was a suggestion from her former manager who overheard her mother calling her "Keke."

"I actually don't prefer to go by Keke instead of Lauren," Palmer said. "I would love to go back to it more than anything."

Keke Palmer was not alone in wanting to ditch her popular moniker for her real name. Similarly, Emma Stone prefers to use her given name, Emily. In an interview with The Hollywood Reporter, she explained that when she joined SAG-AFTRA, the name Emily Stone was already taken, prompting her to adopt the stage name "Emma Stone."

"For some reason, I was like, 'I can't do it anymore. Just call me Emily,' " Stone said. "People that I work with call me Emily when I get to know them."

Aside from Palmer and Stone, other celebrities have embraced different stage names. Will Ferrell, whose real name is William Ferrell, chose his stage name to avoid confusion with another actor named William Curry. Michael Keaton's birth name is Michael Douglas, but he adopted Keaton to avoid conflict with the famous actor of the same name.
