The couple announced the news via a candid Instagram video, in which they discussed his diagnosis and treatment options. "We found out recently that @kevinmanno has Papillary Thyroid Cancer. Thankfully it's a very treatable cancer," shared Ali on Instagram.

Manno, a 41-year-old radio and TV host, revealed that doctors discovered two malignant spots on his right side and possible cancer in a lymph node. "I know that Ali shared this recently that I had to go in for a scan - a biopsy and then a CT scan. And it came back that I do have thyroid cancer," he continued, quickly adding, "But I'm not freaking out."

The couple, who have been married since 2017 and share two children, Molly (8) and Riley (6), keep positive outlook as they shared details of Kevin's prognosis and upcoming treatments.

"The prognosis is very good," Kevin said. "It looks good. February 10th is the surgery and we're going to knock it out and it'll be behind us." Ali also noted humorously that he can sometimes be "too positive" about his condition.

Ali and Kevin have sought opinions from multiple doctors to get the best course of action. "The first thing he said to us was, 'If you have to get cancer, this is the cancer you want to get,' " Ali recalled their oncologist commenting on the treatable nature of papillary thyroid cancer.

The couple mentioned that they are weighing their options between partial or full removal of the thyroid, based on what the surgeon determines during the operation.

"If the surgeon gets in there and determines the whole thing has to be removed regardless, we will of course move forward with that," Ali elaborated. "But going into the surgery, he has a choice to be aggressive or leave half if possible."
