Julia Michaels and Maren Morris take revenge on an ex following a failed relationship in a newly-premiered offbeat music video for their latest collaboration 'Scissors.'

AceShowbiz - Julia Michaels and Maren Morris reunited on new song 'Scissors", and released a new music video. The duo shows an unconventional approach to breaking up with an ex.
The lyrics reflect their nonchalant attitude towards the breakup, "You wanna say goodbye, I'm not crying rivers/ If you wanna cut ties, I'll get the scissors, baby."
Michaels explains the concept behind the song, "It's a funny way of saying that I'm unbothered. My skin is thick. I'm not pressed if someone wants to leave."
Morris elaborates, "It's about being nonchalant when a relationship fizzles, because, let's be honest, most of them do. Not everything ends in heartbreak, but sometimes apathy and a lightheartedness."
The duo's collaboration marks their third after "Cut!" in 2024 and Michaels' co-writing of Morris' "Circles Around This Town."
In the comments section of the music video, Michaels revealed the house used for filming had been destroyed in the Los Angeles fires. She encouraged fans to donate to a GoFundMe to help the family rebuild their home.
"I feel so deeply sad for the family that lent their home to us to create this video. I just have no words for the devastation that has transpired in such a short span of time," she said.
