AceShowbiz - Actor Sebastian Harrison, aged 59, known for his role in "Love Me Licia," documented his dramatic escape from his Malibu home amid the devastating Los Angeles wildfires. "So, I'm still hiding behind boulders. Sparks coming, so I have to duck behind these rocks. I'm ready to jump into the ocean," he recounted in a video shared on social media, illustrating the perilous situation around him.
Initially, Harrison had planned to stay behind despite evacuation notices, hoping to save his three-acre "sanctuary." In interviews with CNN and The Telegraph, he detailed his efforts to safeguard his property, including removing patio furniture and watering the roof.
"I saw that there was a curtain of fire. I left, but I went across the street and my Plan B was, 'I'm going to see if it goes through the property,' and maybe perhaps a structure or two would survive," he explained. "The problem is, at a certain point, I saw the fire trucks just quickly leave and I thought, 'Oh no, that's not a good sign.' "
The situation escalated as embers and smoke clouded his vision, forcing him to seek refuge behind boulders. "I got back out and I saw just this whole hurricane of embers going toward me and I thought, you know, I'm doomed," Harrison described.
His car wouldn't start amidst the chaos, adding to the dire circumstances. "All the firemen, they got the hell out here. They evacuated quickly. I should have followed suit, but right now I'm here, and phone doesn't really work. No one knows where the hell I am," he said, emphasizing the isolation he felt.
Harrison's wife, Livia Pillmann, shared her distressing experience on Instagram, expressing that she and their family managed to evacuate "just on time." She confirmed the total loss of their property, stating, "It's with a heavy heart that I share the news of the recent fire that destroyed our property. The flames took so much, but we're holding on to the memories that live on in our hearts."
The Palisades Fire, which began on January 7, has been particularly destructive, consuming over 21,000 acres and resulting in 11 fire-related deaths as reported by the County of Los Angeles Department of Medical Examiner. This unprecedented inferno has razed tens of thousands of structures, marking it as one of the worst wildfires in Los Angeles' history.
Sebastian Harrison and Livia Pillmann's poignant account serves as a stark reminder of the devastating impacts of wildfires, shedding light on personal bravery and the profound loss faced by countless victims.
