AceShowbiz - Zendaya Coleman revealed that she still harbors some resentment about losing Mirror Ball Trophy to Kellie Pickler during "Dancing with the Stars" season 16. In a recent interview with W Magazine, she stated, "I felt that loss. I was only 16 years old, and it was highly stressful."
Zendaya admitted to taking the competition excessively seriously and wished she had approached it with a more relaxed attitude. She went on, "I took it very seriously, which, in retrospect, I wish I didn't. I wish I'd enjoyed it a little bit more and just was like, 'Eh, whatever.' "
Her negative experience has led her to avoid watching the show entirely. "I have not watched Dancing With the Stars since I was on," she said in an interview with Entertainment Weekly's Awardist podcast. "I don't think I'm gonna be watching this anymore."
Zendaya's sentiments align with those of several other former "Dancing with the Stars" contestants, who have accused the show of manipulating results to favor certain participants.
While taking the show seriously, Zendaya acknowledged her lack of prior interest in the show before competing. "I didn't really watch Dancing With the Stars before I was on Dancing With the Stars. I don't think I was the target demographic," she said.
Following her negative experience on "Dancing with the Stars," Zendaya has grown love to watch other reality TV shows, including "Love Is Blind," which she described as a "guilty pleasure."
