Born on January 17, 1943, Deuel's acting career spanned from the 1960s to the '80s. He first appeared on screen in a 1966 episode of "12 O'Clock High". Throughout his career, he guest-starred on numerous popular TV shows, including "The Monkees", "The Invaders", "Marcus Welby, M.D." and "Mission: Impossible".
Deuel's breakout role came in 1970 when he starred as Billy the Kid in Andrew V. McLaglen's Western drama "Chisum", alongside John Wayne. His portrayal was later named one of the ten best on-screen depictions of the legendary outlaw by ScreenRant.
In 1971, Deuel joined the cast of "Alias Smith and Jones" for its second season. His brother Peter Deuel, who played Hannibal Heyes in the series, tragically died by suicide later that year.
From 1973 to 1977, Deuel played Dave Campbell on the popular daytime soap opera "The Young and the Restless". He also appeared in several TV movies and films, including "Terminal Island" and "The Chinese Caper".
