AceShowbiz - John Amos' daughter has hired a lawyer to find out the truth regarding the actor's death. Shannon Amos has reportedly retained James H. Davis III, Esq. to investigate her dad's passing in August.
According to TMZ, Shannon wanted to know the exact date his father was admitted to Centinela Hospital Medical Center in Los Angeles. She additionally wanted to find out why someone else dropped him off at the hospital and falsely claimed to be John's daughter.
The new report claims that Shannon, a co-trustee in her father's estate, attempts to get detailed information regarding John's health and medical condition when he arrived at the hospital. She also wants to investigate the reason why the hospital doesn't seem to be cooperative when she tries to obtain information about her father's health prior to his death.
Shannon's lawyer shares that she's made three formal requests for her dad's medical records from Centinela Hospital Medical Center which they have yet to respond to. The lack of response only further makes her suspicious grow over the death of the "Good Times" star at the facility.
She additionally wants to know if the Adult Protective Service agency did a thorough investigation on possible elder abuse on her father and if the Los Angeles Police Department examined the circumstances surrounding John's death right. "The family deserves to know the full circumstances surrounding Mr. Amos' care and the events that led to his passing. We are committed to pursuing all available avenues to ensure that these questions are answered," says Shannon's lawyer in a statement.
"Ms. Amos and her legal team emphasize the importance of transparency in healthcare and the rights of families to access critical medical information. The investigation will continue to seek answers and accountability in this deeply personal and significant matter," the statement continues.
John died on August 21 at the age of 84. However, his passing was only announced on October 1 which was also when Shannon and other members of her family found out the devastating news through the media. It was revealed that her brother Kelly Christopher 'K.C.' Amos, with whom Shannon is feuding, was the only family member in contact with the star in the months leading up to his death.
