AceShowbiz - Tom Hanks has sparked concerns about his health following his cameo on "Saturday Night Live". However, just weeks before fans noticed his trembling hands during an appearance on the sketch show, Hanks confidently stated that he is in "better shape" now at 68 than he was in his 30s.
Hanks, best known for his iconic roles in "Forrest Gump" and "Toy Story," elaborated on his current well-being, attributing his improved health to having more time to focus on exercise and a proper diet now that his children are grown up.
He remarked, "Look, I'm 68 years old, the hardest for us was when we were playing 35. That's the time where your metabolism stops, gravity starts tearing you down, your bones start wearing off, you stand differently - I think I'm in better shape now."
This isn't the first time Tom Hanks ignited worries about his health. In June 2022, Hanks' trembling hands at a promotional event for the film "Elvis" led a doctor to speculate that it could be an early sign of Parkinson's disease or essential tremor.
Despite these concerns, Hanks remains focused on his career. His upcoming film, "Here," directed by Robert Zemeckis, utilizes digital de-aging technology to portray characters over several decades.
Hanks found it particularly challenging to play the younger version of his character, noting the physical and emotional toll of imitating a 35-year-old self. "The hardest for us was when we were playing 35... you stand differently. I think I'm in better shape now," he shared.
