According to Krager, Pelosi "continues to work" and expresses regret for being unable to attend the remaining engagements honoring American service members. He emphasized that she was "personally and officially honored" to participate in the delegation, which included relatives of those who fought in World War II, including her uncle, Johnny.
No further details about Pelosi's injury have been released, but Krager stated that she is receiving "excellent treatment" from medical professionals. "She looks forward to returning home to the U.S. soon," the rep added.
Before the incident, Pelosi's team had announced her planned travel to Belgium and Luxembourg from December 12 to 14 to participate in anniversary observances alongside veterans, active duty service members, and foreign dignitaries.
